The Sona Connected Bracelet is a sleek, jewelry-inspired tracker that connects to the Caeden app, available for iPhone. Sona is an activity tracker for mind and body, which measures heart rate and activity and trains mental focus and resilience to stress through a science-based meditation program called Resonance. Sona contains a next-generation heart rate sensor that can track Heart Rate Variability, a metric that requires 10x the accuracy of a standard heart rate monitor.

Sona is one of the first consumer wearables to track Heart Rate Variability, which requires ten times the accuracy of standard beats per minute measurements.

Sona can track any activity that raises your heart rate. Sona uses your unique resting heart rate and personal heart rate zones to determine when you are in an elevated heart rate zone. You will start to receive Active Time credit each time your heart rate is above your active time threshold for 5 consecutive minutes or more. Active Time is a more accurate metric of exercise than steps, and is capable of measuring your activity during many different forms of exercise, including weight lifting and yoga.

The Sona Connected Bracelet does not track sleep at this time.

Sona is available in either S/M or M/L. To determine your size, please measure the circumference of your wrist about one finger’s width above your wrist bone (toward your elbow).

S/M: 7.5” around or below

M/L: Above 7.5” around

Sona is crafted with a full grain leather or a silicone band and custom-milled, ion-plated stainless steel hardware.

The Sona Connected Bracelet is water resistant (IP code IPX5), meaning it can withstand splashes of water. We do not recommend prolonged exposure to or submersion in water (e.g. showers and swimming). We recommend using the silicone strap when Sona will be exposed to moisture and during rigorous physical activity and sports.

The Sona Connected Bracelet can possibly accommodate straps that do not exceed 18mm in width for softer materials and 17.5mm for harder/stiffer materials. The thickness of any strap should be under 2mm.

We cannot make any guarantees regarding the fit of third party straps with your bracelet. Please ensure the snug fit of the Sona is not compromised or your readings may be affected.

Sona’s battery can last up to three days on a single charge.

Sona can remain connected for up to 10 meters (33 feet) in an open environment. The range will vary depending on interference from walls or other mechanical obstructions. The range can also vary depending on the presence of microwave ovens or other wireless devices within range.

Sona can be worn during hot yoga, but we recommend wearing the silicone strap to class. Wearing Sona in the sauna will not permanently damage the device, but in temperatures above 135º Fahrenheit (57º Celsius) the bracelet will automatically shut down sensor operations to protect the internal electronics and ensure customer safety.

The Sona Connected Bracelet does not have a screen. We designed Sona to be discreet and to look like an accessory. All data can be accessed on the Caeden app.

The Sona Connected Bracelet features optional vibrating call and text notifications. It does not feature vibrating alarms at this time.

The Sona Connected Bracelet can store data for up to one week before syncing with the Caeden app.

Sona measures your heart rate intermittently during the day, more often during Active Time, and constantly when the Caeden app is open or during a Resonance session.

HRV readings are taken anytime your heart rate is measured. Caeden uses a proprietary algorithm to calculate your unique Daily HRV score.

Sona tracks steps through an internal accelerometer. Sona does not have GPS at this time.

Sona calculates calories burned using a combination of your biometric data, heart rate and accelerometer data.

Sona contains magnets that generate a magnetic field and may cause interference with electronic equipment. If using a medical device, including but not limited to a cardiac pacemaker and implanted defibrillator, please consult a physician and the manufacturer of your medical device before wearing and handling Sona.

  1. Remove your Sona from the box and attach it to the included charging dock cable. Connect to power source and let Sona charge for at least one hour.

  2. Find the Caden App on the App Store by searching for “Caeden”. Download and open the Caeden App and follow our onboarding process. Welcome to Caeden!

Sona’s clasp was designed to maintain a sleek, minimal aesthetic. The clasp has a firm closure for a more secure fit. The adjustable portion of the strap passes between the clasp and the wrist so that the metal hardware does not sit directly against the skin to provide additional comfort. To open your Sona, pull on the strap from either side of the clasp. Slide Sona on your wrist, and press on the clasp to snap it shut.

  1. Locate the pairing button beneath your Sona’s strap.

  2. Press the button firmly for 1 second.

  3. It may take up to 60 seconds to pair your Sona. Make sure your Sona is on your wrist so it can measure your heart rate. Once it’s paired, you will see the “Connected” screen. Success!

If you are having trouble connecting your Sona to the Caeden App, a reset may help you get back on track. Start by opening the Caeden App’s Settings menu and, depending on whether your Sona is currently paired or unpaired, select the appropriate device action: Caeden App Settings Reset

  1. Attach your Sona to the charging dock or cable and make sure it is connected to power.

  2. Locate the pairing button underneath the strap. Push and hold for 15 seconds.

  3. After you release the button, the Sona will buzz, indicating that the reset was successful.

  4. To prepare your Sona for its next pairing connection, you will need to forget it from your iPhone’s Bluetooth™ settings.

* Please be aware that resetting will delete all data stored on your Sona since your last sync with the Caeden app.

While charging, the charger displays an orange light. Once Sona is fully charged, the light will turn white.

Sona lights Sona works best when worn one finger’s width above your wrist (toward your elbow). Sona should be worn snugly, so that no light can be seen leaking from the sides. If you can see the lights, adjust your Sona to a tighter size or move it further up your arm.

If the tail of the strap is blocking the sensor, slide the sensor along the bracelet until it is no longer obscured.

Note: Tattoos, scars, and hair can affect the accuracy of your reading. For best results, wear Sona with the sensor sitting on bare skin.

To adjust the size of your Sona, fix the hook on the interior clasp to a different hole along the leather strap.

Changing the strap of your Sona is easy. Simply pull the strap free of the metal housing and insert your new strap. For leather straps, you will first need to unhook the strap’s size hole from the clasp to completely open the strap.

To install a new strap, simply feed the strap through on one end of the sensor housing and out the other. Again, for leather bands, you will need to remove the clasp from one side.

Both the hardware and strap of the Sona can be wiped with a damp cloth. You can also gently clean the silicone strap with warm water and soap.

Active Time is a measurement of your daily activity and exercise that uses minutes rather than steps. More accurate than step counting, Active Time uses your personal heart rate zones (as learned by your Sona) to determine when you are in an elevated heart rate/calorie burn zone. You will receive credit in the Caeden app for Active Time minutes throughout your day. Because Active Time is based on heart rate rather than steps, it is ideal for measuring a wider range of activities including but not limited to weight lifting, cycling and yoga.

Heart Rate Variability is the measurement of the variation in distance between the individual beats of your heart. It may come as a surprise to learn that our heart beats are not steady–the intervals between beats vary constantly. HRV has been used by scientists, athletes, and militaries as an indicator of overall health. In general, the higher your HRV the better, as a higher HRV indicates increased heart adaptability and responsiveness to your environment.

The Caeden app measures HRV during Resonance meditation sessions, as well as throughout your day. Every day you will receive an average daily HRV score, indicating your overall health for that day. HRV can be improved through consistent practice of Resonance meditation (we recommend at least 10 minutes per day). When you are tired, stressed, or sick, your HRV score may dip.

Caeden App FAQ

The Caeden app is free.

The Caeden app is available for download in every country from the Apple App Store. The Caeden app is in English.

The Caeden app is compatible for Bluetooth-enabled iPhones running iOS 9 or above.

The Caeden app will be available for Android in 2017. Join our newsletter and follow us @caedenofficial to receive updates.

Your heart rate, calories, and distance data are stored securely in Apple HealthKit. Your Resonance and Heart Rate Variability data are stored securely in the Caeden app.

The Caeden app syncs heart rate, calories, and distance data with Apple HealthKit. Any third party app which syncs with Apple HealthKit can draw from this data.

The Caeden app does not support the export of raw data at this time. It does, however, sync data with Apple HealthKit, so you can take your data wherever you go.

We recommend 30 minutes of Active Time and 10 minutes of Resonance per day to begin with. Please consult your physician when beginning any new health regimen.

From the home screen, click the Settings wheel on the upper left corner. Select “Edit Your Profile” to change your goals.

The Caeden app home screen provides an at-a-glance representation of your daily Active Time and Resonance progress. The inner golden ring represents your progress toward your Resonance goal; when you have completed your Resonance minutes for the day, the wheel will appear full. Similarly, the outer ring represents how many Active Time minutes you have logged for the day, with the blue spokes visualizing the intensity of your exercise.

Swiping to the left screen on the Caeden app opens the interactive charts for activity, energy (calories burned), heart rate, steps, and distance. Clicking on the calendar icon in the top right corner of the screen will open your monthly statistics for these categories.

You can scroll through your progress day by day on the home screen by clicking the left and right arrows next to “Today” at the top of the screen.

Your live heart rate is represented in the center of the home screen when the Caeden app is open on your phone. If you have not opened the app in a while, it may take a few minutes for your stored data to sync before your live heart rate reading begins.

Your daily HRV score is accessed by swiping up on the “Your Daily Health” section at the bottom of the home screen. The Caeden app gives you a daily HRV score as well as an overview of your HRV for the week, and insight into your progress.

The Caeden app comes with six built-in Resonance sessions to match your needs throughout the day. Caeden Resonance sessions Rise prepares you to begin your day, Relax helps to calm and center you, Boost recharges your energy and focus, Breathe works on improving your technique and accuracy, and Rest relaxes your mind and body to prepare you for deep rest. The aforementioned five sessions use both a visual and audio pacer. The sixth session, Free, allows you to select your own visual pacer and meditate without audio guidance.

For each session you can choose from five different session lengths: 5, 10, 15, and 20 minutes, as well as “Expert”–up to forty minutes.

The Focus score you receive at the completion of each Resonance session indicates how accurately you were able to control your heart rate with your breathing. The animated graph at the bottom of the screen shows your Focus levels throughout the session. At first, you may achieve a score of 10-20%. Achieving 25% as a beginner is a great result. You can improve your Focus score with regular practice, eventually exceeding 50%, and possibly even reaching as high as 80-90% once you are an expert. Our founder Nora regularly achieves scores in the high 80’s–send us a screenshot if you are able to beat her!

Shortness of breath during Resonance meditation is an indication of hyperventilation. Rather than focusing on exhaling and inhaling deeper to extend your breath, try breathing slowly and naturally for the four second inhale and six second exhale. Make sure your breath is coming from your belly, rather than your chest. If you are still having difficulty, try a five second inhale and five second exhale.

Your data is stored in and synced securely with Apple HealthKit, which allows you to share your data with third party apps and across your iOS devices.

We will occasionally send you Sona-related updates and other information via email. We will never share your information with third parties.

Your age and other biometric data help the Caeden app calculate data more accurately. We will never share your data with third parties.

From the home screen, click the Settings wheel on the upper left corner. Select “Edit Your Profile” to update your information.

If you delete the Caeden app, you can choose to preserve or delete your heart rate and other data from Apple HealthKit. However, all Resonance and Heart Rate Variability data will be irreversibly deleted, as Apple HealthKit does not store this data.

  2. Press the button firmly for 1 second.

There are several reasons why your Sona may not be connecting.

Please ensure your Sona is charged. Charge your Sona for at least one hour before attempting to pair with your device.

Try resetting your Sona. If you have paired before, forget the Sona from your device. Then place your Sona on its charger and press and hold the button beneath the strap for 15 seconds. Once you release the button, Sona will vibrate, indicating the reset was successful. You can now attempt to pair your device. Please be aware that resetting will delete all unsaved data stored on your Sona since your last sync with the Caeden app.

Your Sona is not connected. Charge your Sona for at least one hour and attempt to pair again.

Please charge Sona for at least one hour before attempting to pair the device.

If you did not manually unpair your Sona through the Caeden App or your device’s Bluetooth settings and the device is listed as “Connecting” in the My Sona information in the Caeden App Settings menu, then it is likely the Sona needs to be charged. Please charge the Sona for at least one hour before attempting to pair with your device.

Please be aware that if you manually unpair Sona, you will need to reset the bracelet before pairing again, deleting all unsaved data stored on your Sona since your last sync with the Caeden app.

Our on-ear headphones feature a three-axis pivot, combined with a low compression fit, for long comfortable jam sessions. Our in-ear headphones come with interchangeable silicone tips that fit securely to stay put no matter how hard or soft you rock.

All Linea headphones include an integrated mic. For our Linea Nº1 and Linea Nº2 wired headphones, these are included in a Mic-3 three button cable. On the Linea Nº10 headphones, the microphone and control buttons are integrated into the earcup for ideal cord-free listening and control.

Our wired Linea Nº1 and Linea Nº2 headphones connect to any device with a 3.5mm audio input. The Mic-3 controls are ideally designed for compatibility with Apple iOS devices for fully functionality. They will still function with Android and other leading smartphones as a microphone and pause/play button, but as there is not a unified standard for external mics on non-Apple smartphone devices, the other functionality may vary. Our wireless headphones, the Linea Nº10, utilize Bluetooth® 4.0 Low Energy and connect to any media player compatible with this standard, which includes most modern smartphones and computers.

On the wired Linea Nº1 and Linea Nº2 headphones, the remote functions on the Mic-3 cable include:

  • Center button: Answer/reject a call, play/pause media
  • Top and bottom buttons: Volume up/down, track forward/backward

The wireless Linea Nº10 headphones include the same functionality, with the buttons instead located on the earcup. Additionally, the center button can be used for device pairing.

Note: Center button functionality compatible with most modern smartphones, computers, and media devices. Top and bottom button functionality available for iOS devices, as there is not a unified standard for Android or other devices at this time.

The Linea N°10 has a 500mAH rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery with 30 hours playback time while streaming, and much longer while in standby mode. And if the battery runs out, you can use the included back-up cable to plug in and stay connected.

Don’t worry! The Linea on-ear headphones are designed with a removable ear pad. If you gently tug on the attached ear pad, you can see how the ear pad is fixed onto the ear piece. Simply nest the elastic ring into the ridge that runs along the edge of the ear piece.

Please ensure that the auxiliary cord is firmly plugged in to the headphones and your device, with the metallic end in your device. If this does not solve the problem, please try a different auxiliary cord with the headphones. If the cord is the problem, please contact us at support@caeden.com!

Please note that our headphones are Mic-3 enabled, meaning all functions work on iOS devices but are not guaranteed on other operating systems.

Please try a hard reset. Forget the headphones from the Bluetooth settings of all of your devices. Press and hold the center button until the headphones power off. Press and hold the center button again until the red and blue LEDs flash, indicating pairing mode. From here, you can pair to your devices one at a time.

Caeden products are warrantied against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one year from the date of original retail purchase from an authorized Caeden dealer. If a defect exists, Caeden at its option will either (1) repair the product at no charge using the new or reconditioned parts, (2) exchange the product with a functional equivalent product that is new or reconditioned, or (3) refund the original purchase price.

Shipping is free for U.S. customers via UPS Ground. If you would like to expedite your order we also have several options available for a charge. We add sales tax as applicable depending on your state of residence.

We currently ship to the United States and Canada only. We offer FREE UPS Ground delivery to US Domestic orders. Shipments to Canada cost a flat fee of $35 via USPS International Priority Mail. Orders are usually shipped within 2 business days of purchase. Delivery will take place within 3-5 working days after your order has been shipped (excluding public holidays).

We offer a 30 day return and exchange window on all orders. Please contact SonaSupport@caeden.com or support@caeden.com to initiate the process. Your order total will be refunded, minus cost of shipping.
